Darkroom.

Snap a memory in a darkroom,
and strip my image
from tinted film.

Douse my pain
in chemical fluid.
Wash away my imperfections
with a solution that burns.

Oh, define me
in black-and-white.
Is my face really so pure,
but my eyes so dark?
(How long has it been since I've last really slept?)

The shadows paint sin
onto my hands
like bloodshed.

That flash gives me an
unrealistic holy glow.
(You know I fell from grace years ago.)

but I don't care
as long as it's only
your fingers
touching my picture.
My soul is safe
(and I'll always remember.)
So i haven't uploaded in awhile, so i was looking through old poetry and decided to put this one up. Not sure when this was written, and not sure what i had in mind. But I'm pretty sure i winged the part about photography. Since i don't know or understand the process at all. I just faked that. (DA photographers, please don't eat me!)

the italics and bolding messed up, so i got rid of them... i think.

I think you've got most of the darkroom stuff right, V. Corrosive chemicals, red lighting...it's all there. And this poem is awesome, if a bit evil and...obsessed...
